April 11th, 2025: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Workshop

Register for the SoTL Workshop: April 11, 2025

(9:00 am to 12:00pm EST; In-person event open to all NYC faculty)

We are excited to offer an interactive, collaborative in-person workshop for NYU faculty members who wish to explore and develop their own SoTL research project.  This workshop will be moderated by Trace Jordan (Clinical Professor, College Core Curriculum, CAS ) and Ethan Youngerman (Director of Undergraduate Research, Office of the Provost). Participants will attend an in-person workshop to develop their own educational research project using the principles and practices of SoTL. To assist with this process, you will be joined by experienced SoTL practitioners plus experts in educational technology. During the interactive, guided workshop, you will think through defining a SoTL research question, identifying technological resources, exploring options for collaboration, IRB requirements, research methods, data collection, and publishing. By the end of this session, you will have a clearly defined research question and an actionable methodological design for your SoTL project. Faculty who have a SoTL idea or question they wish to explore, or a project that they have already started are encouraged to apply.

The workshop has limited seats and participation is by application.  Please complete this registration form for the SoTL Workshop to confirm your attendance by March 15th, 2025, and you will be informed of your participation by March 29th. Applicants to the SoTL Faculty Workshop are encouraged to attend the preceding SoTL Symposium on Friday, April 4.

We look forward to seeing you!
